Church of England Diocese of Chester St. James with St. Bede, Birkenhead

About Us

St Bede's Chapel and Church Hall has served the people of Claughton Village for over a hundred years, and has been part of the Parish of St James with St Bede since the early 1970s.

We hold Services on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am and on most Sunday Evenings.  On Sunday mornings, Hamilton Memorial United Reformed Church (URC) meet in St Bede's Chapel at 10.30am.

WHEN COMING TO SERVICES AT ST BEDE'S CHAPEL, PLEASE USE THE SIDE ENTRANCE IN SCOTTS PLACE.  THANK YOU.

If you would like to enquire about a Baptism or Christening, a Wedding Service or a Funeral for a loved one, do get in touch - these Services usually take place at our larger Church building at St James.

We are home to a large range of uniformed groups for children and young people meeting during term-time, with dedicated groups for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.  Do get in touch to find out more.

Our Church Hall is available for bookings for groups and parties for younger children, we can offer a large open hall space, a modern catering kitchen and appropriate toilet facilities.  Do get in touch to have a look round.
