About Us

St Bede's Chapel and Church Hall has served the people of Claughton Village for over a hundred years, and has been part of the Parish of St James with St Bede since the early 1970s.

We have a weekly Service of Holy Communion at St Bede's at 9.30am on Tuesday mornings, with our Sunday morning Service at St James, the Parish Church.

If you would like to enquire about a Baptism or Christening, a Wedding Service or a Funeral for a loved one, do get in touch - St Bede's is Licensed for Wedding Services, and the adjoining hall can be used for a Reception.  Funeral Services and Baptisms usually take place at our larger Church building at St James.

We are home to a large range of uniformed groups for children and young people meeting during term-time, with dedicated groups for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.  Do get in touch to find out more.

Our Church Hall is available for bookings for groups and parties for younger children, we can offer a large open hall space, a modern catering kitchen and accessible toilet facilities.  Do get in touch to have a look round.  St Bede's Community Centre is an accessible building, with no steps or ramps on our main access from Upton Road.  We do not have any on-site parking, sorry.  Street parking is available in Claughton Village.
