Holy Cross Church
OUR CHURCH CONTINUES TO BE ALIVE AND ACTIVE EVEN THOUGH OUR BUILDING REMAINS CLOSED.
You are very welcome to join us for Zoom online services.
Please contact Revd Liz Harris: [email protected] (07526 249094).
The Government has announced that Places of Worship may be opened for individual private payer from 13th June 2020 but all public worship and services continue to be suspended. The final decision about whether or not to open a church for private prayer rests with the Parish Church Council (PCC) of each church. Holy Cross PCC has decided NOT to open at this time for two reasons:
1) Certain measures must be in place to ensure the health and safety of anyone who enters the building, and it is not yet possible to do this.
2) Holy Cross does not have a tradition of people coming the church for prayer. Most people prefer to gather for Sunday morning services, and few have come when we have made similar arrangements for private prayer in the past.
However, if you would like to visit a church to pray, we can put you in touch with another local church which will be open for private prayer. Please contact Revd Liz Harris for further details (see the email and phone number above).
Please know that we continue to pray for all in our community in these strange and difficult times. God bless, and may you and all those whom you love stay safe and well.
At Holy Cross Church we take the safeguarding of all people seriously. You can view our safeguarding policy and how to report a concern in the menu on this page. For regulated activities all our volunteers and staff are DBS checked and safeguarding trained.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us on 07526 249094 and ask for Revd Liz Harris (Curate) or Marion Hibbert (Parish Safeguarding Officer) or you can call the Diocesan Safeguarding Team on 024 7652 1345 (24-hour contact number). If you have immediate concerns about someone please contact the police (call 999) and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
