It feels as though it has been a long winter and we are all ready to welcome the Spring and give thanks to God for the changing of the seasons and the beauty of our natural world.
The Outside Team have been as busy as ever keeping our church grounds up to such a high standard. The team have worked throughout the winter and have co-ordinated their seasonal maintenance while respecting nature, preserving natural habitats and encouraging wildlife in the coldest of months. Spring is the time for planting and growth and the team will be hard at work in the coming month to get our churchyard ready for the season of renewal and bloom.
The tireless efforts of the Outside Team are one of the key reasons for Holy Trinity achieving the Eco Church bronze award last year and they are well on the way to helping us to move into the silver category. Last month, Francis and Beryl Drake, who lead and co-ordinate the work of the Outside Team, received recognition and commendation from Durham County Council at the Environment Awards in the category of Volunteer of the Year. We are so proud of the team and very grateful to them for their work at Holy Trinity.
As we move through the period of Lent, please keep an eye on our Facebook page which informs you of all of our services and keeps you up to date with all that is happening at Holy Trinity. We are a welcoming church and we extend an invitation for you to join us in worship and prayer at any of our services.
We give thanks and praise to God for renewing the seasons and we pray that Spring brings growth in our own faith and relationship to our Father, just as it brings renewal and restoration to all that He has created.
