A Baptism, or Christening, is a very special service during which we welcome someone in to the church family. Often this is a baby but sometimes an older child or an adult comes for baptism.

Baptism is the beginning of our journey with God, a journey that continues for the whole of our lives and is a joyful service when we rejoice in God’s love for us. As it is a service of welcome into the family of the church, a Baptism normally takes place during our 11am Sunday service.

If you think, for whatever reason, that Baptism is not what you want for your child, we can also offer a service of “Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child”. This may be especially appropriate for those who wish to mark the adoption of a child into the family, but can be for any child
