Stixwould Village Hall saw eight teams battle it out to win the coveted first place in the special quiz, organised to raise money to carry out essential repairs at St. Peter's Church. The Benniworth Brains were the proud winners! It was a great evening, made better thanks to the raffle prizes kindly donated, and cakes made by Margaret Forman which were served during the interval. After a general knowledge round, a tough fashion-related round followed, then it was an audio round - where the teams had to work out the TV show by the theme tune. After the interval, a paper round then led to a James Bond round, then the quiz was finished off with a Trivial Pursuit based round. Thanks to an amazing donation by the team at the Stockshill Caravan Park, we were able to raise just shy of £400. A recent generous £100 donation means that the work to the church can now be progressed. Thanks so much to Stixwould Village Hall team for allowing us to use the building and all those who came out to be with us!
SUNDAY 10th MAY at 10.30am After the Eucharist Service, St Peter's in Stixwould will be holding the Annual Parish Meeting in the church. The purpose of this meeting is to elect the churchwardens for this next year (2026/27). Every person on the electoral roll for Stixwould village has the right to attend and vote for their church wardens who are the essential link between the church and the people who live in the parish. At the conclusion of that meeting the Annual Church Meeting will commence. This meeting is open to all who are on the St Peter's Church Electoral roll. Items on the agenda include the approval of the auditor for the church accounts for 2026, the reports on the accounts, the fabric of the church, church activities, a ministry report and the election of the 2 Joint Church Council members. If you are eligible and able to attend either or both of these meetings please do so.This is your village church, it is there for you for all the important milestones in family life, for family weddings, for baptisms (all ages!) and at the end, the funerals of your loved ones. But it is also open daily for you to take time out from your busy lives and just spend a few minutes resting in the peace of the Lord. If your community group needs a meeting place (and the village hall isn't available) and you think the church would be suitable (sorry no toilets though!) please contact the Margaret Forman for a discussion about how we might be able to help fulfil your needs and the costs involved. With every blessing The Revd Sally A Clifton MA Priest in Charge Bain Valley and Woodhall Spa Groups of churches. 07949 556494
