Welcome to St Helen's Church in Swinhope...
...nestled deep in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The Church of St Helen...
... is a small, beautiful church, in the hamlet of Swinhope near Binbrook in North East Lincolnshire. The building dates back to the 13th century. It was significantly rebuilt in 1860.
Our church is what's described by the C of E as a 'Festival Church'.
We hold six services each year. The remaining services for 2026 are as follows:
Sunday 28th June
Sunday 27th September (Harvest Festival)
Sunday 1st November (All Saints' Day)
Sunday 27th December (Carol Service)
Our services take place at 3.p.m. and last approximately one hour.
We use traditional Church of England 'High Church' liturgy, and Parish Mass is available at most services.
ALL are welcome...
It is said that the great parish priest of London St. Martin in the Field
C of E church, Dick Shepherd (1880 – 1937) placed on the main door
of the church a notice which read as follows…..
‘WELCOME HERE:
BE YE HIGH CHURCH OR LOW CHURCH
OR NO CHURCH, BUT HAVE SOME POOR
LOVE OF CHRIST IN YOUR HEARTS.’
We wish to extend the same welcome to all who visit, or choose to worship in our church of St Helen, Swinhope.
