At Monken Hadley we have a fine organ by Forster & Andrews which is used at most of our services. As part of the Royal College Of Organists "Play The Organ Year" we are holding an open morning for anyone that's interested in the organ.

Do you want to know how the organ works? Why is there more than one keyboard? What do all the stop knobs do? We will have videos and a talk that will answer all of these.

There's also the opportunity for anyone that wants to have a go on the organ. If you play piano already you can bring some music you are familiar with. If you are a total beginner we can guide you through your first notes.

Entry is free but donations to support our music programme are welcome.

St Mary the Virgin, Monken Hadley

Monken Hadley is where Greater London meets the rolling fields of Hertfordshire. The parish extends from Barnet High Street to the far end of Hadley Common. Situated near the village green, historic almshouses, three duck ponds and the white Common toll gates.

We are keen to be a church for the whole community. Most worshippers live less than three miles away from the church but we also welcome a few people from further afield who love the relaxed use of sung services typical of Hadley Church.
