Parish Worship at Home
Welcome to our service for worship at home. Although we cannot all be together physically in church at the moment, we can join together in worship wherever we are. Please download the order of service and follow along with the recorded YouTube video. Every blessing.
Sunday Communion in Church
All Saints is open for Sunday worship , and we continue to offer one onsite in-person Sunday service - at 9am, as well as a weekly online service available on this website. To attend the in-person service, you need to book by contacting Simon the Vicar, who will confirm you have a place. This is because under the new lockdown rules our numbers are restricted to 16 people in the congregation in order to ensure appropriate social distancing, and to allow for people to move around in order to receive Communion.
All attending should wear face masks for their own wellbeing and as a Christian courtesy towards the welfare of fellow members of the congregation, and should wash their hands frequently, keep socially distanced and be mindful of the wellbeing of all. Current local lockdown advice requires that those from different households should not socialise before or after the service to minimise the risk of transmission of the coronavirus. All attendees are requested to provide their contact details and consent for contact for NHS Test and Trace, in the event of a case of Covid-19 amongst those attending worship.
Please remember our recorded services of Sunday Praise and a service sheet for home use will continue to be provided weekly, and there is no rush or obligation to come back to church physically unless you feel ready.
Nothing is risk-free, but we have taken measures in our churches to ensure we can be as Covid-secure as possible. The full risk assessment, which is an ongoing live document which we will continue to update, is available on request or via a dedicated A Church Near You page. To help anyone who is considering attending a service, I have prepared a short document called 'What to expect' which is downloadable below.
This outlines the basic plan and what church will be like - as it will be different from the way it was before, with no singing or refreshments, and a shorter liturgy. At Communion you will receive only the bread. As indicated above, if you do wish to attend worship on Sunday, there will be one service with a limit of 16 people maximum at All Saints at 9am. If you wish to attend St James, there will be one service at 11am with a limit of 9 people. Please contact Simon to book your place.
For now, please don't attend if you haven't booked a place in advance - as we don't want to turn anyone away. If you prefer to wait, then please do - there is no need to rush back. We are also offering a Wednesday Communion at St James at 1.30pm and a Thursday Communion at All Saints at 10am, so if you wish to book for these, please let us know. Dates and times of services may be subject to change should there be any cases arising among those attending, and this will be communicated as soon and as widely as possible.
Please do pray for the ongoing challenge of keeping our churches open safely - and remember that in the event of anyone infected attending worship, you may be contacted and asked to self-isolate, and we may have to close church temporarily again. This will be a long process - your support and patience is appreciated - but our worship and our church will go on, as it has done throughout the pandemic.
