Call to prayer during second national lockdown

Church_news

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, Justin Welby and Stephen Cotterill have written to firstly to clergy and then to all Christians with a message of support and a call to prayer during this second national lockdown. They have provided some prayer resources for us to use which you can access here. You will find a copy of the letter here too.

Also a prayer booklet for you to print off and use by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button below.

They suggest that, just as in the first lockdown we came out at 6pm on Thursdays and clapped for the NHS, that it would be good this lockdown to commit to say a prayer or two at 6pm for our nation at this difficult time. The most important thing we can do at this time is keep praying.

Dear God

We are grateful for all that you have given to us – this food, each other and our health.

We pray for those who lack these things we enjoy.

Give us thank full hearts and opportunities to share your gifts with others.

We lift before you this country in these difficult days – and pray you would protect us, encourage us and keep us.

Amen.
