Church of England Diocese of Newcastle Cramlington

About Us

St. Nicholas' Church is a lively family church with a heart for taking our faith out into the community and a vibrant range of activities through the week, especially for young people.

Our church services offer a range of opportunities from quiet traditional worship through to charismatic modern and our theology is most easily described as 'open evangelical'.

A typical 10am Sunday morning family service will have modern lively worship, preaching to help people apply their faith to everyday life, opportunities for private and healing prayer and (except on the third Sunday of the month) a family communion. Children and young people are really welcome and most weeks there is a Children’s Church.

On the third Sunday of each month at 10am we have a more informal service which we call "th3rd Sunday". The music is led by a band and there is often a Thanksgiving or Baptism.

Our Wednesday morning and early Sunday services are quieter, more traditional and usually follow the appropriate Common Worship liturgy.

Each second Saturday of the month we have a Messy Church for families, with games and craft activities and we always finish with a shared meal.

On Friday evenings we host a drop-in called "Hot Chocolate" for 11-18 year olds. As well as providing hot chocolate and pancakes, there are activities including games, TV, table tennis and much more.

On the last Saturday of each month we have a community café, "Heavenly Delights", where we aim to mix friendship and fellowship with food and all are welcome to come and join us.

We run a food bank in association with the Trussell Trust from our social outreach building known as Hope Centre. Clients are referred by local agencies such as schools and health and social services. Also operating out of Hope Centre are a school uniform bank, a job club and a "Friendship in Grief" service.
