This group is held every Tuesday morning (10-11.30am) in the Church Vestry (access via Heaton Road) and offers a friendly atmosphere with play and activity for children with a chance for the adults to socialise, chat and meet other parents, grandparents and carers of young children.
All families with babies and toddlers are welcome.
£2.00 a session
Term time only
This is a simple said service using Common Worship without hymns, in the Lady Chapel. It finishes about 8.45am.
Our main Sunday service where everyone is welcome
Junior Church at St Gabriel’s is a version of church just for children with child-focused activities. It gives our children the opportunity to feel a valued member of our congregation and learn about God in a way that is relevant to them.
Our Junior Church meets during the 9.45am Parish Eucharist. Children worship with their families or guardians for the start of the service, but then leave together for their own fun, creative and participative worship, joining the adults again for Communion.
We welcome children of all ages, from babies onwards and parents are always welcome to stay or leave their children in the capable hands of our leaders while they take part in the main service.
We have lots of fun doing things such as drama, story telling, singing, arts and crafts, cookery and of course prayer. We would love to welcome you into our child friendly worship each Sunday.

An all age family service where the Nativity story will be told by members of St Gabriel’s Junior Church
All children are invited to dress up as characters from the Nativity story!
Christmas Eve Midnight Mass (incense is used)
This is a really atmospheric service, a sung Eucharist, which starts in candlelight with carols. The first service of Christmas.
Christmas Day 8.00am Holy Eucharist
A said service, beautifully quiet and reflective.
Christmas Day 9.45am All Age Eucharist
A child friendly service with a Sung Eucharist with carols. A lovely way to begin your Christmas celebrations.
