St Mary's Longframlington
Welcome to St Mary's, the parish church for Longframlington with Brinkburn, with its Grade 1 listed church building, dating back over 800 years. Our active 21st century congregation, keen to share the love of God near and far, is based in the church and its adjoining Community Room. Just like our village, St Mary's includes both Northumbrians and those who have moved to the area to work or to retire.
Like the rest of the country, we are currently restricted in what we can do on site, and the numbers we can welcome, because of COVID-19. Following a review at the start of the new year lockdown, Sunday services in church will continue for the present with Holy Communion every Sunday morning at 09:20, and a service of Morning Prayer on a Wednesday morning at 09:30. For those who are unable to get to church at present a pre-recorded service for the Felton and Longframlington parishes will be streamed at 11:00 every Sunday: this can be accessed either on the St Michael's and St Mary's YouTube channel or direct from a link uploaded to this website the previous evening.
We are very relieved that under the new lockdown rules live services can continue, but it has been made very clear - and we agree - that church services are not to be an excuse for socialisation (and thus potential spread of infection), so to provide the informal contact between worshippers that is so important to the church as an active community we are offering the online equivalent of after church coffee on Sundays at 12:00 noon via Zoom. Note this is earlier than previously and has a new Zoom link
In addition, of course, the church is available to individuals for private prayer and reflection every weekday, while as part of the Church of England we provide on this site links to the Daily Hope freephone prayer line.
Whether you visit the building for a service or to pray in private, join one of our on-site or online services, or merely stop a while, we bid you a very warm welcome. We’d love to meet you and get to know you! Please feel free to explore this website and our church building - and then to get in touch and ask any questions - however profound or trivial!
