Revd Malcolm Ingham announces that he is moving

Many of you will know that back in 2020, during the pandemic, I was appointed to the Knightley Benefice as an Interim Minister. In the Church of England, Interim Ministry is a fixed-term ministerial appointment to parishes for up to three years (renewable for one term) in response to a pastoral need or mission opportunity. An Interim Minister has been described as ‘one who temporarily assumes leadership of a congregation’ that is without an installed priest, in order to ‘help the congregation work on both past and present issues so that it might prepare for the future’.

After a wonderful and interesting three and a half years which began in lockdown with online services, it is now time for me to move on and hand over the leadership of the Knightley Benefice to the person God is calling here next. This means that Liz, Lottie, Ed, Hector (the dog) and I will be answering God's call to serve him in Coventry Diocese who were my sponsoring diocese back in the 1990's when I went off to train at Theological College in preparation for ordination.

The Diocese of Coventry have issued the following statement.

"Further to interviews held in November, we are delighted to announce that the Reverend Malcolm Ingham, who is currently Interim Rector, St. Mary’s, Badby with St. Michael and All Saints Newnham and Holy Trinity, Charwelton with St. Mary the Virgin, Fawsley and St. Peter and St. Paul, Preston Capes – The Knightley Benefice, will, subject to the normal formalities, be the Priest-in-Charge of Wolston and Church Lawford which, in due course, will also include the benefice of Ryton-on-Dunsmore following satisfactory conclusion of a pastoral scheme.

A date for Malcolm’s licensing service will be confirmed by Simon Taylor, Assistant to the Archdeacons shortly. Thank you for your prayers during this time. Please continue to pray for us, and for Malcolm and family as they prepare to leave their current church and move to Coventry Diocese to serve our church and community here."

It has been a real joy to live in Badby and share in your journey of faith. I will keep you updated on future arrangements.

Much love,

Malcolm & family
