MORNING WORSHIP

Now that we are in an interregnum, this service on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, will be led by a lay member of the benefice - usually Susan Rose on one Sunday and shared by others in the team on the other Sunday.

Our bells came back with all new headstocks and fittings on Monday, 2 March 2026. It took till 18 March to get everything sorted and finally adjusted and now we are back to normal but have yet to re-start basic training sessions.

Practice every Wednesday 7.30 - 9pm except Holy Week and sometimes an odd week in the summer.

Service ringing 40 minutes before Sunday services.

HOLY COMMUNION

During the interregnum, with thanks to the Revd Greg Shaw, we are maintaining a regular monthly celebration of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month. We use the Common Worship format for the service with hymns. We look forward to those who attend stopping for coffee and chat afterwards.

Coffee Morning in Church

Coffee morning - The monthly coffee morning in St Mary’s Church will be held on the 3rd Tuesday from 10.30am to 12 noon.

The monthly church lottery will be drawn about 11.30am. Everyone will be most welcome to come along for coffee, tea, home-made cake and chat.

This short service is held once a month usually on the Tuesday evening following the third Sunday at St Mary’s Badby at 6.30pm. In December it is moved a week forward to avoid the Christmas busy period.

St Mary's Annual Christmas Fair

St. Mary’s annual Christmas Fair will be held in the church on Saturday 5 December, from 10.30am till 2.30pm. There will be a variety of craft and other stalls.

Come along to get ahead with your Christmas shopping in warmth and comfort without travelling far.

Coffee and cakes, followed by soup and rolls will help sustain you while you shop.

Peal on the bells

An expert band of diocesan bellringers will be attempting to ring 5,040 changes on our six bells on Saturday 12 December starting at 10am. This free recital will take about 3hours and 15 minutes and will be the first with the new bell headstocks and fittings. They had intended to ring in December 2025 but our bells were still unexpectedly out of the tower.

Ring-out 2026 and ring-in 2027!

Last year our bells were away being restored but this year they are back and our bellringers will be continuing the custom of ringing the bells till just before midnight, drinking a toast and then welcoming 2027 by firing the bells (all ring simultaneously!) for midnight and ringing some call changes. Visiting and lapsed ringers are very welcome to come and join in and non-ringers are very welcome to come and enjoy the festivity so long as they don't get entangled in moving ropes! Enter by the tower door, not through the church.
