Now that we have a suitable area in Church we are running a monthly coffee morning . Said an objector to changes in 2018 "I wish I had come before, its lovely!" After the shutdown for coronavirus pandemic, we are cautiously proceeding again from 10.30am to 12 noon on the third Tuesday of each month - half way between Tea and Meets in the village hall on the first Fridays. We shall be pleased to see anyone who can manage to keep to our rules to reduce the spread of coronavirus for coffee, tea, cake and a chat.
A monthly opportunity on the first Friday afternoon of each month (except January) for drinking tea, eating delicious cakes and chatting with village friends and neighbours.
After the pandemic closure, we meet again in September . We will, of course, have hand sanitiser (bring your own too if you wish), a one way system, one toilet available, and a Track and Trace list. The hall will have been thoroughly cleaned and seating well spaced as government guide lines advise. All crockery will have been washed hot in the dish washer. You may bring your own crockery to use if you prefer. All cakes will be covered and served from the hatch. Moira and Jan will be wearing face visors but please wear a face covering until you are seated to eat then they can be removed.
Contact Jan on 01327 702833.
Bellringing practices are still cancelled for coronavirus COVID-19
Tuition with tied clappers for initial bell control used to start at 7pm and normal practice at 7.30pm - 9pm. Attendance averaged 13. Review and refreshments were held afterwards at the Maltsters Arms. All this has been stopped from March 18,2020 when bellringing became impossible due to the risk of infection and then legally banned. Although a re-start has been authorised from July 2020, only ringing bells with ropes 2m apart for services has been permitted. Until restrictions are further eased, we shall be unable to hold practice nights.
While we are constrained to having no worship in churches, our new Rector, the Revd Malcolm Ingram, will be recording a service for the Knightley Benefice each Sunday and posting it on a new website. It will be in the format of YouTube so can be watched at any time, however many times you want, after it has been published. Click on the box MORE ABOUT THIS EVENT below for the latest service.
