St John's is a dementia friendly church. We host special dementia friendly service 3 times a year at Christmas, Easter and Harvest.
Members of our congregation have undertaken Dementia Friends training.

Gluten free communion wafers available. Please mention this to the person who greets you.


Our Building

Grade 2 listed building. Beautiful stained glass windows. 3 large batik panels representing the baptism of Jesus.


Music and Worship

We have a newly refurbished pipe organ which we use at most of our services. Sometimes, when the hymns/songs are more suited to the piano we use that.


Groups, Courses and Activities

Regular Bible Study groups throughout the year.

Timeout Cafe - 4th Wednesday of every month. A light lunch (soup or jacket potato in the winter, sandwiches in the summer) followed by an activity e.g. a quiz, board games, a craft session. For anyone who would like to be in the company of others for the afternoon. There is no charge for this. Donations if desired.

Our Wellbeing mutual support group meet on a Wednesday morning at 11am for a chat, followed by a fun singing session, led by a trained singing teacher.

We have a team of mentors/coaches who support children at Oakfield School under the TLG (Transforming Lives for Good) early intervention project.

2nd Saturday of the month between October and May 2-4pm
Bible themed craft, games, and a short time of celebration in the church, followed by light refreshments in the hall.
For children up to age 11. Children please bring an adult.

WI-fi is available for users of our church hall.

Guidebooks / Notes

We are open every day from 9am to 3.30pm for you to come in and look around or just spend some time in peace and quiet of our beautiful church. Please use the South door, accessed fromthe driveway in High Park Road.


Other Features

Our well equipped hall is available for hire for businesses, voluntary groups or individuals (e.g. parties)
Charge is £13/hr
Access to wi-fi, disabled toilets, baby changing facilities, a small kitchen (for serving tea and coffee and simple food, but not cooking meals from scratch.)
We also have two smaller meeting rooms for hire separately.
