Church of England Diocese of Portsmouth Whiteley

About Us

WHITELEY CHURCH is a modern church that was meeting in the local Community Centre pre-COVID-19. Since the first lockdown the church has been meeting online with worship being streamed on the church Facebook page every Sunday.

We look after the Church Without Walls Garden near the cinema as a place for the community to use for prayer and reflection.

We are a church that welcomes families. When we are able to meet physically we have a Sunday School group for primary age children and a youth group who meet during the morning service twice a month. We have crèche facilities within the church service and a quiet room if that is needed. Whilst we are online we aim to include all ages in our services. We also have occasional stories and activities for our Sunday School group

We are a church that likes food, and pre-pandemic we usually had a monthly Breakfast service. When we are not subject to restrictions we run the Open Door Café which meets in the community centre on Tuesday mornings (term time only) for refreshments and the occasional slice of cake and Monday Minis parent/carer baby and toddler group.

We support Fareham and Gosport basics bank, collecting donations of food and toiletries for them. We work closely with Cornerstone C of E Primary School where a number of church members are Foundation Governors. Reverend Philippa is also invited in to Whiteley Primary twice a term to lead assemblies.

We are looking forward to September 2021 with great excitement. This is when the new Cornerstone C of E Primary School building will open and the church will move into its new home in the adjoining chapel space.

Whiteley Church also enjoys many social activities which they share with the community. Our aim is to be a sign of Hope in the wider community.
