Getting here

Welcome to The Church of The Good Shepherd, Kirk Sandall & Edenthorpe. We are part of the Beakon Churches Mission Partnership, working together with St Peter and St Paul, Barnby Dun and the St Leonard and St Mary, Armthorpe.

We are a warm and friendly church family meeting to worship in a modern church that shares a site with the Church of England primary school, Canon Popham.

Our services are accessible and engaging, and centre around trying to understand God's changeless teaching (found in the Bible) and apply it to today's world. We worship by singing songs old and new; by using some of the beautiful prayers developed by the Church of England and by creating new prayers ourselves.

Time together as a family outside worship is also important, and as well as number of social groups that meet regularly (the Ladies Group and the Craft Group, for example), we are a church who enjoys a party!

We are committed to getting to know and engaging with our community: we have close bonds with the five schools in our parish; we have good links with local uniformed organisations; we sponsor a local mothers' and toddler's group called 'Angels' Delight', and we enjoy getting involved with social action. We hold a weekly drop in group at Kirk Sandall's Church Hall called Creative Company. It is a relaxed, informal, fun friendship group where you can come along play games, do or learn a craft or simply sit and chat, make new friends, have a cuppa & a natter. Everyone is welcome! Also at the Church Hall, we hold an Art Group on Tuesday mornings between 9 and 11.30am and the 'Sewing Group' meets on Tuesday afternoons from midday to 4.00pm.

We are a growing church and we always love to meet new people and welcome them in God's name. Please do come along and meet us - we would love to see you!
