'I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.’ Psalm 63.8.Focusing on Psalm 63, in March’s Start the Month Bishop Paul and Sarah reflect on the psalmist's deep longing for more of the presence of God in a desolate season. They invite us to join in with the psalm as a prayer as it acknowledges that God is with us, upholding us in difficult and desperate moments. As well as recognising the presence of God in our own circumstances, Bishop Paul and Sarah encourage us to pray for peace in places of war, and particularly for the church across the Middle East.
This is happening across the whole of the Church of England - and some dioceses have already been audited.Southwell & Nottingham's safeguarding audit is now less that 3 months away. The external auditors want to hear from anyone who is part of a church community in the diocese – that includes you! There are several surveys, each for different groups of people, and you are encouraged to complete as many as are relevant to you. The surveys are 100% anonymous. Gringley on the Hill is a village in North Nottinghamshire whose origins can be traced back thousands of years. This website records the activities of the Club through pictures and articles. Our active Club holds regular meetings, has published books and maps and other materials, and attempts to record and present items of historical interest to the village. The club has also completed the work of a 'Churchyard Recording Project' which lists all known gravestones and their location, so if you are looking for a forebear, this is the place to start!
