Accessibility

The church has no water supply. There is a chemical portaloo next to the church. This facility is not fully accessible.

Our car park is 260 yards from the church on the lane before you reach the church. There is a small amount of parking next to the church. Please let us know if you need assistance or advice about access to the church. Our aim is to make all welcome in spite of our access challenges.

The church is Grade II listed as are the piers at the entrance to the churchyard

Barkisland Post Office, general store and off-licence is the nearest shop to the church and is located at the crossroads of Saddleworth Road(B6114) and Stainland Road approximately 1 mile away over the motorway bridge. The shop is open from 7.30am to 7pm weekdays and 8am to 5pm Saturdays. It is a


Music and Worship

Our single bell has been restored as has the church tower and internal floors and the bell frame.

The church organ was built in 1905 by Alexander Young and Sons of Manchester. It was fully restored in 2008 at a cost of over £63,000. It is maintained by Andrew Carter organ restorers.

In accordance with the traditions of the Church of England and the earnest wish of the Parishioners the Book of Common Prayer is used in this church

The church sits on the banks of Scammonden reservoir and the footpath that runs around the reservoir passes through the churchyard.
