Children and Young People

At St Michael’s, we believe children and young people are an essential part of our church family. We want them to feel at home in worship and in the life of the church.

Families Welcome

Families are always welcome at our services. We know that children bring energy, joy, and life to worship, and we encourage them to take part fully. Parents should never worry about little ones making noise or moving around — it’s part of the joy of being together.

Play Area

At the back of the church, there is a dedicated play area with toys and activities for young children. This space allows families to join in worship while children can play safely and happily.

Angels Playgroup

Our Angels Playgroup meets every Thursday morning in the Church Hall from 9.00–11.00 am. It’s a lively and welcoming space for babies, toddlers, and their carers, with songs, play, and a short time of worship. Angels is part of the wider Fresh Expressions movement, offering creative ways to explore faith and community together.

Worship Together

Children are included in our Sunday services, with hymns, prayers, and readings that speak to all ages. Special services throughout the year — such as Christmas, Easter, and Harvest — are designed to engage children and families.

Safeguarding Commitment

The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is central to our life together. St Michael’s follows the Church of England’s safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring that every child is cared for in a safe and supportive environment.
