Parish Contacts and Safeguarding

This parish is committed wholeheartedly to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops Guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. The Diocese of Leeds's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our Parish Safeguarding Officer. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

The Policy Statement on Safeguarding in the Church ("A Safer Church") has been adopted by Saint Paul's Church Monk Bretton.

Each person who works within the church agrees to abide by the recommendations and guidelines, and the church has appointed Miss Emma Rees-Johns as the Parish Safeguarding Officer. She was appointed on 14th March 2023.

The application of the policy is reviewed each year and a report provided by the Parish Safeguarding Officer to the Parochial Church Council.
