Who's Who
At St Barnabas we believe everyone is important. Some are paid, and some have specific roles, but the church functions as intended when everyone is involved, bringing their gifts and time to building God's church.
The PCC are trustees of the church and share the leadership with the vicar. The members of the PCC are as follows:

Giving
Many people at St Barnabas give generously of their time and money to support the church's work.
Of course, we have bills to pay; the yearly running expenses for the church (utility bills, insurance, repairs, staff costs, office costs, etc) are around £38,000. We also commit to giving £50,000 (in 2026) as our Free Will Offer to the Diocese towards the cost of our vicar. We keep some money aside in reserves to cover unexpected expenses.
Whilst some of this comes from Gift Aid reclaims, investments and rental income, most comes from the generous donations of our members.
But paying bills is not the primary reason we give financially; we give as part of our worship of God and a desire to support others.
For those who want to give, there is an opportunity to do so during our Sunday services, during the week via our office during opening hours, or online.

Cheque. To give via cheque, please make the cheque out to ‘St Barnabas PCC’ and post it / deliver it to The Treasurer c/o the St Barnabas Church office.

Payroll Giving. Many employers offer Payroll Giving which allows you to give directly to St Barnabas Church from your salary before tax is deducted. This means if you give £100 per month and are a basic rate taxpayer, the gift will only cost you £80 from your net pay. If you pay a higher rate of tax, £100 a month will only cost you £60 from your net pay. To find out if your employer offers Payroll Giving, contact your HR office.
Charitable Aid Agencies. You may wish to give to St Barnabas via a charitable aid agency such as Stewardship, JustGiving, CAF, Charities Trust, or Charitable Giving. These agencies are useful for those who give to multiple charities and wish to have their giving recorded in one place or for those who wish to give anonymously to St Barnabas.
Regular Giving. If you wish to give regularly, please download our Standing Order form (below).
If you are a UK taxpayer and eligible to Gift Aid your donation, please consider downloading and returning the declaration form (below). This will increase your gift by 25p for every £1 given at no extra cost to you or us.
St Barnabas Church, Swanland, like all Churches, relies on regular donations. Everything we do is made possible by your giving. Thank You.
