Welcoming spaces for our local community

St Barnabas is a church at the heart of Swanland, and we are pleased to make some of our rooms available for local people and community groups to use.   We offer welcoming spaces for your children's party, for running a club or class, holding a meeting, or looking for a comfortable place for a small group.

For children's parties, choose from our smaller Ark space or our larger Main Hall. Our kitchen is available, and we allow 30 minutes for setting up and 30 minutes for clearing away.   Bouncy castles are permitted in the Main Hall, subject to our booking terms and appropriate hirer's insurance.   Please ask us for details.

We love to receive enquiries from individuals, community groups, organisations and regular hirers – you don't need to be a member of the church to hire our rooms.

Spaces available

Prices shown are our discounted rates for Swanland residents. Different rates apply to non-residents; please see our full rates below

The Main Hall   £31.50 per hour.

Our largest space, suitable for children's parties, community activities, group events and gatherings.

For Children's parties, that's £90 for two hours, including use of the kitchen.   We include chairs and tables and allow 30 minutes before your booking for setting up, and 30 minutes afterwards for clearing away, so you have time to get everything ready without having to pay for additional preparation time.

The Ark   £18 per hour.

A smaller, more intimate space which is particularly suitable for toddler and pre-school children's parties and smaller gatherings.

For Children's parties, that's £63 for two hours, including use of the kitchen.  (£36 if you don't need the kitchen)   This includes 30 minutes before your booking for setting up, and 30 minutes afterwards for clearing away.

Committee Room   £9 per hour.

A convenient space for meetings, small groups, interviews and other activities.

Lounge   £17 per hour.

A comfortable space for small meetings, groups and informal gatherings.

Kitchen   £13.50 per hour.

Kitchen facilities are also available where required for any room booking.

Regular groups and activities

We welcome enquiries from local clubs, societies, classes, community organisations and other groups.   If you're looking for somewhere to hold a regular weekly or monthly activity, please ask us about our discounted regular-hirer rates.
