The Church of England's theme for Lent 2026 is Draw Near: Life-giving habits for Lent. The resources which support this have at their heart the theme of a ‘rhythm of life’ – habits and patterns which help us grow as disciples of Christ day by day, especially as we prepare to celebrate the great mystery of God’s saving love at Easter.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in this theme. For example, the Church of England has prepared daily reflections. These can be accessed digitally via the Everyday Faith app and the Joint Council has purchased printed booklets. Also, there will be a weekly discussion group on Sundays from 22nd February to 22nd March from 12noon to 12.15pm at St John's Church to discuss the previous week's reflections. This will be informal and there is no expectation to come every week, so come when you’re able! There will be refreshments of tea, coffee & biscuits too.
