About Us

Sunday Worship at 11.00 (Either Common Worship Sung Eucharist or BCP Choral Matins)

Open Monday to Friday 0900 to 1600, Saturday and Sunday 1000 to 1500

Welcome to the Central Church of the Royal Air Force, also known as the Oranges and Lemons Church.

A beautifully restored Christopher Wren grade 1 listed building, it contains the Books Of Remembrance of all those who have died in service in the RAF since it was formed in 1918, as well as all those who flew in the USAAF in WW2 and failed to return.  (Over 150 000 people are remembered here.)

Sunday services, with music by our prize winning professional choir, take place every week at 11.00 (Except 27 December 2020)

PLEASE NOTE:

We are closed to the public on Bank Holidays and from lunchtime Christmas Day until the first working day of the new year. However, just to complicate matters in 2020, we shall be OPEN on Friday 8th May, the early May Bank Holiday as it is the 75th anniversary of VE Day and we shall be holding a special service on Sunday 10 May to commemorate this anniversary.

We advise people making a special visit to ring us beforehand to check that the church will be open - as we have many services, concerts and events here: 0207 242 8282.

Our world famous bells ring regularly throughout the day - usually just after the clock strikes the hour.

Everyone is welcome to this wonderful place of worship and commemoration.

Why not join us for worship in this beautiful church?
