Our Building

A grade 1 Christopher Wren church in the heart of London, one of the two island churches in the Strand.

Music and Worship

The church is famous as the Oranges and Lemons Church - from the nursery rhyme. We have a beautiful set of bells that are hand rung regularly - and a carillon that plays just after the hour. Please contact us if you have a band of ringers that would like to ring here.

We have many concerts and live music events here. Our Tuesday lunchtime concert series has been well received and is free to everyone. Concerts usually start at 13.10 and run for 40 minutes. They feature young musicians training at places such as the Guildhall: please phone the church on 0207 242 8282 for more details.

The organ is a Harrison and Harrison instrument gifted to the church by the United States Air Force, families and friends.

Choral BCP Matins takes place regularly, sung by our professional choir. (Usually the second and fourth Sundays of the month, but please check with us to make sure.)

Our choir is made up of professional singers under the direction of Mr Simon Over. We aspire to the highest standards of church music with a wide repertoire of pieces and settings. Recently the eucharist settings have included ones by Mozart, Palestrina, Sumsion and Chilcott.
