St Mary's Banbury

Welcome to St Mary's Church in Banbury. We are proud to be part of Inclusive Church, a network of churches who strive to celebrate and affirm every person and does not discriminate.

We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.

We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Banbury St Mary is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm.
We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).
Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.
If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Sarah Bayliss on safeguarding@ banburystmary.org.uk or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Erica Hegg on erica.hegg@ oxford.anglican.org.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
