The Churchyard

A wonderful team of village volunteers helps to maintain St Mary’s churchyard all year round. In the spring and summer months, areas are deliberately left uncut to encourage wild flowers and insects to thrive - chemicals are not used. There is a water butt available if you are placing cut flowers on a grave, although it's always a good idea to bring a small bottle of water with you. Dead flowers are regularly removed, and Christmas wreathes are removed at Candlemas (end of January / beginning of February). Please use fresh or silk flowers, plastic flowers are not permitted in churchyards.

Please contact the Churchwarden here if you have a churchyard enquiry including burials/headstones.
