A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed. We are almost there! For those who have kindly made a donation, if you can let Rev Paul know if you would like or are eligible for a Gift Aid form we will be able to reach our target! Rev Paul is now negotiating the tricky territories of Bat surveys, permissions and Licences (please pray for him while he is doing this!). Once we have achieved these works, including minor repairs, we will be able to apply for other grants for the major repairs to the roof, to the structure and to the stained glass. The appeal will continue until March, because we also have the possibility of fundraising for the installation of a composting lavatory and running water. Any donations may be made by cash or by cheque payable to St Peter’s PCC Ringland and passed to Rev Paul. Thank you so much for your support.Food Bank whilst we continue to collect food for the Norwich Foodbank there is now a local Foodbank for the local needs of Taverham, Drayton and Thorpe Marriott. St Ed’s and St Peter’s Prayer Hub - week beginning Sunday 31 January 2021.St John, in the first chapter of his gospel reminds us that 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being 4 in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.This week we will focus our prayers on the Light of Christ, shining in what seems like very dark times at the moment. The darkness cannot and will not overcome the Light which is Christ, the very presence and life of God amongst us.You may like to use these prayer suggestions this week.Sunday: ‘The Light of Christ has come into the world.’ We rejoice today and give thanks for the presence of Christ with us.Monday: ‘The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.’ As we pray today we pray remembering that that in the bleakness of the circumstances we find ourselves in God is here with us.Tuesday: Hold in the Light of Christ all those who are unwell in body, mind or spirit as a result of COVID-19.Wednesday: We are called to be light in the world. Pray that we may shine the love of Christ wherever and however we may find ourselves.Thursday: We pray today that the Light of Christ may set our hearts on fire with love for God and for our neighbours.Friday: Spend some time today reflecting on the warmth of the light of God’s love for you.Saturday: Pray for our worship tomorrow.God our creator, who in the beginningcommanded the light to shine out of darkness:we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christmay dispel the darkness of ignorance and unbelief, shine into the hearts of all your people, and reveal the knowledge of your glory in the face of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you,in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven…..Please join us at 8.00 each day on Facebook for our Bitesized Prayer.
