HAL's Kids

We believe that children are an important and vital part of our church family. So we have special activities for children who are pre-school up to school year 9. We meet in church with the rest of our church family, for 10.30 before going to the hall with our children's team for our own time of worship with games, bible stories, prayer and songs. The parents get a termly newsletter to keep them informed about our children's ministry and children get take home packs with age appropriate activities to help them live out their faith at home.  On the third Sunday we come back into church to share our communion meal with our church family.

We encourage the children that through Christ there is nothing that if they set their mind to do they cannot do.

We emphasise the Love of God to them. For God so loved us that he gave us his only Son, Jesus, based on John 3:16. Jesus loves us so much that he died on the cross for us.

We use language that is simple and easy for the children to understand.

Our teachers have a heart for children and a passion to teach God’s word to children. We believe that every child matters and so in our Sunday school we do everything we can to ensure that every child has a chance to fulfil their potential.

Each child is treated as an individual; we aim to bring out the best in each child. We develop the children spiritually and socially. We encourage the children to develop social skills such as public speaking, sharing and caring for each other.

Praise and Worship- the children have their praise and worship time. The Sunday school teachers participate during the children’s praise and worship as we lead by example. Children sing both Sunday school songs and also songs sang in the main service. This is because we want the children to easily join in when we have all age services.

Prayer- we teach the children to understand that prayer is how you communicate with God! You are never too little to pray and in-fact God loves to hear children pray. We make prayer a time that is accessible and enjoyable. We also have a range of prayer resources for children and families to uses at home.

During term time with have our baby and toddler group "Tiddly winks" with fun, games and toast for the children, and tea and coffee for their grown ups.

We also have other activities throughout the year for families so check our events page to find out more.
