Alconbury Weald Church (BMO) – Be Loving AWC 2024 Report – Summary 2024 was a year of growth and community at Alconbury Weald Church. We welcomed new members, deepened ties with the local school, and embraced creative ways to worship and serve. Worship & Community: Our 10:30am intergenerational service became a central gathering point, featuring interactive worship, shared meals, and outdoor and home-based services. We explored the theme “Everyday God,” encouraging daily prayerful reflection. Leadership & Discipleship: We formed our first elected church leadership team and grew stronger during Rob’s illness, with members stepping up in service and leadership. Several contributed to the diocesan Faith Exploration course. Outreach & Service: We celebrated baptisms and ran well-attended community events for Easter, Remembrance, Halloween, and Christmas. Practical acts of service, like school cleaning and litter picking, helped us live out our faith. Our toddler group, Roots and Wings, supported 56 families, and we launched a weekly prayer group. Giving & Sustainability: Participation in the Parish Giving Scheme grew from 3 to 9 givers. Members offered their time and talents, supporting our long-term sustainability and vision for becoming a parish. Safeguarding: Our new safeguarding team is active and we are compliant. Synod: We continue to collaborate with the Huntingdon Deanery and the Diocese of Ely on ministry and mission. Looking Ahead: In 2025, we aim to achieve charity status, grow financial independence, and deepen our identity as a loving Christian community. Elections: Church Warden & the Church Team (Also known as Church Council)
