Next time you sit down for a meal, pause a moment. We are busy busy people, rushing from one thing to another. We even often rush through meals perhaps only taking a passing note of the general overall flavour. Our minds a whirl of thoughts or we are engage in conversation while eating in an automatic motion.
Be still, slow down then begin to eat. As you eat, chew slowly, notice the texture and savour the flavour. Stop, taste, really taste. These small moments are soul moments, connecting us to nature, connecting us to God's creation, they are good for our wellbeing.
