Sunday 6 October 2024 - Harvest Thanksgiving - 11h00
You are invited to our annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service at 11 am on Sunday 6th October, which will be followed by our traditional BRING-AND-SHARE HARVEST THANKSGIVING LUNCH in the church.
If you can, please bring something to contribute to the meal, e.g. a salad, cheese, ham, rolls, a tart, nibbles, a pudding, etc. Anything that can be shared (no need to bring sausages, though, as the large sausage pie will feed all of us!).
We shall also be taking a collection of food donations to the homeless in Oxford, so if you have any dried goods, or other foods that can join a store cupboard, such as bottled or tinned fruit or veg, please bring these as well. Now that the weather is changing, these will be more valuable than ever…
We look forward to seeing you there.
'Ride and Stride' - 106% of Target Reached! (Still time to add your donation...)
Oxfordshire has a rich heritage of churches of all denominations. Many of these date from Saxon and Norman times, standing as landmarks in their neighbourhoods and providing an important focus of continuity and stability in ever-changing times.
The annual 'Ride and Stride' event is a fundraiser for the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, to which we apply when we need help with repairs and restoration for our lovely village church, and half of what we raise comes back to St Helen’s.
This year BRIAN MACKENZIE from Plough Cottage, along with his son, Callum cycled to a number of local village churches on behalf of us all at St Helen’s last Saturday (14th September) - very many thanks to you both!
So far (Saturday 28 September) £850 has been raised towards the target of £800 (106%) by 14 supporters - what an excellent result!
All of us at St Helen’s are most grateful for your support - and there is still time for additional donations - you can do it at a click via this link here.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you so much!
