'Spirit of Christmas'

We welcome you on Sunday 5 December 2021 to the Berrick and Roke Village Hall from 2-3:30pm to start the festive season with the return of our traditional village Christmas Fair - but with a difference!

Follow Santa who will be travelling by steam engine from 1pm through Roke towards the HSH, then through Berrick, arriving at the Village Hall by 2pm.

There'll be something for all the family! On sale in the hall will be cakes, gifts, mulled wine, mince pies and coffee, while outside in the field sharp-eyed children will be challenged to follow 'The Santa Gingerbread Trail'. And Santa himself will welcome young people visiting him on his steam trailer.

The Grand Draw for the Christmas Raffle will take place around 3:30pm - there is a range of excellent seasonal prizes to win! Tickets are on sale throughout the village and will also be available to purchase on the day.

If you would like to contribute to the cake stall, please bring a cake or any other Christmassy foodie item to the Hall before 2pm.

Please dress warmly and for all weathers...doors will be open in the Village Hall for ventilation...We would ask you to wear masks while moving around inside the hall in line with current guidelines.

Christmas Eve Carol Service

On Friday 24 December 2021 from 18h30 to19h00 at St Helen's Church.

In order that no-one gets turned away from an over-crowded church, this year a Short Carol Service will be held in the safe open air of the churchyard.

We invite you to:

· walk up the candle-lit Church Lane (but limited parking is available);

· gather in the candle-lit churchyard around the Christmas Tree;

· sing some lovely well-known carols (from a service sheet), each linked by a line of the Christmas Story;

· hear the children singing around the crib.

If all is calm, you’ll be given an individual candle, but please bring a torch anyway – to read the carols (and to watch where you are walking on the uneven ground). You are welcome to bring a fold-up chair if you need one.

The service will last about 30 minutes.

This year we are supporting The Refugee Council; you are welcome to make a donation in cash at the service or online at https://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/

If the weather is too awful, we’ll cancel via this website www.berricksalomechurch.org.uk by lunch time on Christmas Eve.

Everyone welcome – wrap up warm!

Preferred added precautions might include a LF test, a mask and/or social distancing

Christmas Day Holy Communion

On Saturday 25 December 2021 from 11h00 to 11h45 at St Helen's Church.

We will be holding our traditional Service of Holy Communion for Christmas Day at 11am in St Helen's Church.

Everyone welcome!
