Sunday 9th November at 9.45 a.m. - Said BCP Communion
This will be a short service led by Revd Dawn Ward for those who would like to take communion before the Service of Remembrance.
Sunday 9th November at 10.45 a.m. - Service of Remembrance [Remembrance Sunday or Third Sunday before Advent]
All are invited to this special annual service of remembrance which will include a two minutes' silence at 11 a.m. and the laying of wreaths at the village war memorials in church. A group representing the 4th Regiment (Royal Artillery) will be attending. Refreshments will be served after the service.
Tuesday 11th November at 10.45 a.m. - [Armistice Day]
On this, the 80th commemoration of Armistice Day, The 4th Regiment (Royal Artillery) will hold their Regimental Remembrance Day Service at St Columba's, led by their Chaplain the Rev Dr Henry Afful CF. All service personnel in camp on the day are expected to be present, led by their Commanding Officer Colonel Harry Waller RA. Children from both Alanbrooke Academy and Topcliffe C of E Academy will also attend and both academies, as well as others from our village community, will be involved in parts of the service. The CO particularly hopes that this service will foster a stronger bond of relationship between the barracks and the communities of Topcliffe and Asenby and that as many as possible will be able to attend.
Thursday 13th November at 11 a.m. - Midweek Morning Prayer
All are very welcome to join us for our short midweek service of Morning Prayer, led by Revd Dawn. The service will be followed by refreshments and fellowship
Sunday 16th November at 10.45 a.m. - Sung Matins [Second Sunday before Advent]
Our service of morning prayer, led by the choir, is taken from the Book of Common Prayer. The congregation sings the hymns and the choir sings settings of the day's psalm, the Venite and Jubilate, Te Deum or Benedictus. There will be refreshments and a chance to chat after the service. All are most welcome.
Thursday 20th November at 11am - Midweek Morning Prayer

Sunday 23rd Novemberat 10.45am - Holy Communion [Christ the King, Sunday next before Advent]
Do join us for our service of Holy Communion, led by Rev Robert Williamson, with congregational hymns. There will be refreshments and a chance to chat after the service.

Sunday 30th November - [Advent Sunday]
As it is the 5th Sunday of the month there will be no service at St. Columba's, but Revd Dawn will lead a Benefice Service at St John the Evangelist, Dalton, to which all parishioners in the Benefice are invited.
N.B. The PCC has undertaken all relevant risk assessments in the light of Covid-19 guidance over the past 5 years, and these are reviewed regularly. All restrictions have now been lifted.
In colder weather please dress warmly; the heating is on but the church is a large building.
Please note that at Communion services we have reintroduced Communion in two kinds, i.e. sharing the chalice. If you have any problem with this do mention this to the sidesman or churchwarden before the service. Should you prefer not to receive Communion, do come to the chancel for a blessing, indicating this perhaps by keeping your hands to your sides.

Access is not ideal, as the path is steep, but a temporary ramp can be provided for wheelchair entrance to the church; do let us know if you need this in place.
