Weddings at St Andrews church

This church is a popular wedding venue because of numerous family connections through baptisms, weddings and funerals.

To marry at St Andrew's you require a qualifying connection to the parish, normally being resident in the parish or one of the parishes in the Dover Town benefice will suffice.

Please contact us to find out more, we will usually ask you to complete the wedding enquiry form (you can type into the form, save it) and then return it to us at [email protected].  Along with your preferred date/time the form will give us enough information to being the booking process.

There is a requirement for us to take copies of certain identity documents (proof of nationality, identity and address), and a copy of the original decree absolute if either of you are divorced.  We can advise you more if you have any questions.

As you prepare for the big day, you will find the information sheet Your marriage at Buckland helpful in your planning.

Marriage fees are set in law in the Autumn, there will be some additional charges for 'extras' such as a bellringer and organist.  When you book we will give you a rough idea of the cost and will invoice you once the fees are set.

Marriages are now no longer registered during the church service, instead we send documentation to the Registry Office and they will contact you regarding your marriage certificate once the ceremony has been registered on their online system.

For marriage records please contact the main Registry office; parish records are also held in the archives at Canterbury Cathedral.
