Sunday 25th October & Sunday 1st November
This Sunday, 25th October, we celebrate Bible Sunday, and we are delighted to welcome back Revd Richard Bainbridge. Our readings invite us to think about the way God’s Word is received, lived and shared.
Later that day, at 4.00pm, we will hold our Annual Service of Hope. This is a particularly important service in the life of St John’s, as we gather with those who have suffered a bereavement to remember and give thanks for the lives of those we have loved and lost, and to find comfort and hope together. If you have been bereaved — whether recently or some time ago — you are warmly invited to join us. Please do also invite anyone you know for whom this service might be especially meaningful.
Then, on Sunday 1st November, we celebrate All Saints’ Day, one of those wonderful moments in the Church year when we are reminded that we belong to something much bigger than ourselves — a great company of people, across generations and across the world, who have sought to follow Christ.
So, over these next two Sundays, do come and join us — and perhaps bring a friend, neighbour or family member with you — as we listen afresh to God’s Word, remember those dear to us, and give thanks for the lives that continue to be shaped by Christ.
Every blessing,
Rev'd Mark
