The Parish Church of St Mark, Shelfield & High Heath is situated in Green Lane and lies in the heart of the community which it serves.
The Church was built in 1965 to amalgamate two existing Christian communities - St Mark’s Mission Church (founded 1886) which served the village of Shelfield and Christ Church which served the farming community of High Heath.
The present Church is a modern, dual purpose building which includes a flexible and pleasant worship area and Annex to the side; it has full access and facilities for disabled people including a loop system. During the week the building is used by the community for a wide and varied range of church and community groups for people of all ages.
The Ministry Leadership Team now consists of the Revd Robert Farmer, inducted as Vicar of St Marks on 15 March 2011, our Associate Minister is the Revd Christine Silvester, Lay Reader is Rosalind Male, NSM Curate Revd Andy McCosh, Church Warden Mrs Sue Jewkes, along with Mrs Ann Prescott and Mr Colin Ridgway who will be licenced as Lay Readers on Saturday 10th September 2016.
St Mark's Church is a Coveanted Parish, and we actively encourage and affirm shared ministry and leadership. Further detals may be found on our Website www.st-marks-shelfield.org.uk
St Mark’s prides itself on being a welcoming and inclusive church where all may come and find a spiritual home, a warm welcome and friendly faces!
