On the 11th July this year, a walk and talk event was staged and was well attended. The walk was from Edburton Church to Newtimber Church, via Poynings Church, to be followed by refreshments and a talk by Professor Alan Lester. There was, however, the option just to meet at Newtimber Church for the refreshments and the talk!

Professor Alan Lester had given a talk previously at Newtimber Church and returned for this event. Alan Lester is a renowned scholar and author from Sussex University specialising in British colonialism.

Professor Lester gave a fascinating talk about the history of the church and its unique connections to extraordinary global events.
