Dear village, parish, benefice and beyond,In honour of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, our servant, faithful, steadfast and Christian monarch the All Saints Church bells will be rung at midday on 9th September by a team from our wonderful group of ringers.On Saturday 10th September, between the hours of 10am and 6pm, All Saints Church will be open to anyone who wants a space to just sit, or reflect, to pray, to say thank you, to light a candle or write a message in a 'Book of condolence' (about our Queen or to the Royal Family).On Sunday 11th September there will be a special service of Holy Communion written especially for this official time of mourning. There will be an opportunity to sign a 'Book of condolence' too.The 'Book of condolence' will be available at Sapcote Methodist Church Sept 12th -16th, 9am-midday.Over the weekend of Saturday 17th September, (between 10am and midday), & Sunday 18th September (between 12.15pm & 4pm) All Saints Church will be open to anyone who wants a space to just sit, or reflect, to pray, to say thank you, to light a candle or write a message in a 'Book of condolence' (about our Queen or to the Royal Family).Please note, Sapcote Parish Council, after consultation with All Saints Church, has decided that the beech tree between the library and All Saints Church Hall would be a suitable place for anyone who would like to leave a floral tribute in memory of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Last week, Auguat 16th, saw our second successful delivery of hampers to nominated families in need. This summer, hampers have been delivered to 24 families and they have received food for one day of each week of the holidays plus fresh fruit to accompany each delivery. Thank you to all who were involved with nominating, organising, co-ordinating, packing and delivering. Everyone involved was connected with the schools and/or churches of Sapcote and Sharnford. The recipients were overjoyed and extremely grateful for a helping hand with feeding hungry mouths over the long holidays. We are very grateful for monetary donations given by local groups and the Parish Councils. Also this year we have been awarded a community grant from ASDA to aid our Hope project for the next year. Of course, we know that none of this would have been possible without the large amount of food provided by the Hinckley Area Food Bank and want to express our thanks to them too. All were blessed by delivering or receiving hampers and we praise God for this, His inspiration, leading and provision for this project. Please pray for the families involved. The hampers included contact details for the churches of Sapcote and Sharnford and groups that children might attend. Please pray that they will keep in touch and seek support if needed. The Church wardens of All Saints and St Helen's with St Mary's are very pleased to be able to announce that the Rev Joanna Hover has been appointed by the Bishop, as Rector of Sapcote and Sharnford with Wigston Parva. The date of the Rev Jo Hover's licensing by the Bishop of Leicester is 31st August, 2022, 7.30pm at All Saints Church, Sapcote We are all very excited by the appointment and are very much looking forward to welcoming our new Rector and her family to the Parish.
