Welcome to St Peters Church website
The church is situated on the edge of the village, has weekly services, and is regularly used for baptisms, weddings, funerals and other special services. Kitchen and toilet facilities are in the attached church centre. There is also a meeting room available for hire by yourself or a group, please contact our booking secretary telephone number 01603 714392.
We have a group especially for younger people which meets in church on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
The church building is usually open from 9am to 3pm GMT and 4pm BST.
The congregation consists of a mixed age group of people from a variety of backgrounds.
You would be most welcome to join us on our journey with Jesus.

Thank you to all those who helped in any way with the South Burlingham Fete yesterday.
Strumpshaw Fete is on June 30th and Lingwood on July 14th.
We also have a stall at the Lingwood School Fete at the Village Hall on July 7th 12- 4pm. Would anyone be willing to help David & Heather by manning the stall for part of the time?
The Gressenhall trip planned for July will not now be going ahead as interest was limited.
Monday Prayers –11th June - at the home of Christine Blowers, The Bungalow, Off Lodge Road, Lingwood starting at 10am. All are welcome to come and join in.
Strumpshaw prayers continues each Wednesday in Strumpshaw church at 10am
23 of us are booked on the boat trip from HORNING on Wednesday 13th June. Cost £6.50, Trip lasts 1 ½ hours, Heather has letters from Marlene for those who have booked with all the details.

Thursday Homegroup meet next on 14th June at Marie’s at the usual time of 7.30pm. We are beginning an 8 week series called Meeting Jesus: Women of Faith in the New Testament. We have a spare chair. Any lady interested speak to Heather or Marie.
We are going to lunch at the Shoulder of Mutton on Wednesday 27th June at 12 noon. As there are nearly 30 of us booked we need to pre-order our food. Heather & Marie have menus. Speak to them and give them your choices by Friday 15th June please. As well as the choices on the menu there is Roast Turkey or Beef (Large £10.95, small £6.95)
Church Walk – our next walk is 16th June; we meet at Lingwood Church car park, leaving there at 2pm prompt to drive to Acle where the walk starts; we will be car sharing so no problems if you don’t have transport. From Acle we walk to Fishley Church then across fields to Upton Green; here you can choose to do the 3 mile walk or 4.1/2 mile one. We will be stopping at the White Horse community pub & shop for a comfort break before returning to Acle via Fishley. All are welcome and we walk at a steady pace so do join us to enjoy God’s wonderful creation and friendly fellowship. Any queries ring Sue on 713680.

Some of you may remember Patricia (Pat) Young who lived in Elm Road Lingwood. She has sadly died & her ashes will be buried with her husband in Lingwood Cemetery on Thur 21st June at 2pm. Her family invite all those who would like to come along to do so. There will be tea in the church centre afterwards.
Lingwood PCC will be discussing the planning application for the plot of land opposite the cemetery car park. The application can be viewed at www.broadland.gov.uk/plans and entering the application number 20180897. You can comment direct to Broadland as an individual of course, if you wish. Do make your thoughts known to any member of the PCC by Wednesday 20th June.

Friday 29th June 7.45 pm Top Brass and ABY Choir Concert Lingwood Church. Entry by programme on the night £7 adults £3.50 children. Posters available. Do take these and put them up around the village. Marianne as poster co-ordinator has been doing a fantastic job getting posters on display. Do give her as much help as you can.
Sunday 1st July there will be a “Hymns & Pimms” service in Elizabeth’s garden at 6.30pm. The hymns we will be singing are going to be your choice. Let David or Heather know if you have a hymn you would like sing.
A date for your diaries. Our wonderful Betty is retiring from playing for Strumpshaw morning services although she will continue to provide our music for evening services. Her last morning service will be on August 12th – her 90th Birthday when she is choosing the hymns.
We have booked 18 seats on the Coach Trip to Fakenham Christmas Tree Festival and Bawdeswell Garden Centre on Thursday November 29th Cost £10. Details of when payment required to follow. If you have not given your name to Heather but want to go, do speak to her as at the moment we can increase the booking number.

Our backstage tour of the Theatre Royal on Thursday 6th Sep from 3pm to 4pm followed by Cream Tea is now booked. Cost £9.50. It’s not too late if you want to join us. Speak to Heather or Pat Wyld.
Risk Assessments – At the PCCs in April various people took on the responsibility of doing written risk assessments for groups/activities. David has now received some of those. Could those responsible for the remainder get them to him as soon as possible please?
Craft Fair– Plans are now well underway for our Craft Fair over the August Bank Holiday 25th – 27th August. This is for the whole benefice to show what talented people we have in our communities. If you have already said will you take part showing off your craft speak to Heather she has details for you. We also need cake bakers, setters up, refreshment helpers, stewards and clearers up.
