BENEFICE LUNCH AND DISCUSSION: Wednesday 24 June 2026 12 noon at St Mary’s Church – all are invited to a bread, cheese, ham and cake lunch in St Mary’s Garsington, followed by some discussion around St John the Baptist, baptism, the River Jordan, favourite saints and favourite places of pilgrimage. The Compassion Salon invites authors, artists and others whose work speaks to compassionate, wise and courageous responses to life.The conversation on 15 June will be with Professor Barbara Becnel, a leading racial justice activist in the US. Her work with the former gang leader Stanley Tookie Williams was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, made into the Golden Globe nominated film Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story. Becnel is a criminologist seeking to work with leaders around the world to reject publicly the Doctrine of Discovery and papal edicts or ‘bulls’ of the 1400s and 1500s that promoted a theological narrative of European domination and superiority, and to reconceive the social contract in more equitable ways.ALL WELCOME

We encourage you to wear a face mask if you are able to do so. We are open every Wednesday 9am - 4pm for private prayer. You are most welcome to enjoy our church for prayer or just a moment of quiet. We kindly ask that you:• Sign in on entry• Use the hand sanitiser provided immediately on entry and again before leaving• Keep a distance of 2 metres from any other visitors at all times• Avoid touching any items or surfaces unnecessarily A Sunday Eucharist continues to be held online via Zoom for anybody who is shielding or does not feel ready to return to our church building.
