Facilities and features

Accessibility

There are two toilets in the tower ground floor, one of which is fitted for use by the disabled.

Baby changing facilities are available in the toilet for the disabled

There is a small car park at the east end of the church for six cars. There is a car park at the Village Hall in Baronshurst Drive nearby and a larger car park at the other side of the recreation field which is accessed from the High Street opposite the Red Lion pub. From there it is a five minute walk to the church across the recreation field. We advise that coaches must not attempt to drive down the narrow lane to the church as there is a ditch to one side into which a coach may easily fall.

One of the two toilets is fitted for use by the disabled with wide doors, handlebars, etc

The entrance through the south door is level. There are two steps on the inside of the north door. A portable ramp is available next to the north door which can also be used for access up the chancel step into the chancel.

A hearing loop is installed for use thoughout the nave and chancel

A small number of service sheets are printed in large print

We welcome assistance dogs

Help for Visitors

An information sheet on the guidebooks table gives information for logging in to the WiFi.

Pre-booked guided tours for group visits can be arranged. Visit our website for more information.

A fully illustrated guide book to the medieval wall paintings is available to buy for £10.
Electronic tablets with headphones are available providing guided tours for children and adults, should you wish to guide yourself around the building.
These guided tours are also available as an app, which you can download to your smartphone or tablet at any time. Look for "St Mary's Chalgrove" in the i-Store or Google store. Part of the content for the app is streamed so you will need to log in to the church WiFi when you arrive.
Short printed guides about the Church, the Tower and the Bells are also available, as well as postcards.
There is also a children's quiz and colouring sheets.
