Nine Lessons and Carols – Fourth Sunday of Advent
On the Fourth Sunday of Advent, St James the Great Church will hold its traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, sung with St James’ Singers and led by our Musical Director and Church Organist, Mr Philip Prior. The service will be officiated by Fr James McCluskey, Rector and Parish Priest.
The service follows the familiar pattern of readings from Scripture and carols that lead us from the promises of the Old Testament to the birth of Christ. It is a service that values careful listening, good music, and the steady unfolding of the Christian story.
Set towards the end of Advent, this service offers a quiet and reflective moment before the busyness of Christmas, rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the worship of the Church.
All are welcome.
