A service during which we remember all those who have died and gone before us.
The service will include well known hymns, a reading from the Bible and a short sermon, and the moment when the names of loved ones are spoken aloud by the minister. There will also be an opportunity to light a special candle.

All Age Messy Church is for everyone of all ages. Come as a family group, come on your own.
We are planning some fun Christmas craft activities to be completed by everyone who attends. The session will end with a short service (usually a short reading, story and a song), followed by some light refreshments.
The event will take place in the Church Hall, starting at 10am and finishing at 12noon.

Our Christmas Toy Service always takes place in the church on the 2nd Sunday in December. Starting at 10.30am, it usually lasts for around 45 minutes.
During the service all present are invited to help decorate the tall Christmas Tree and also to bring with them gifts which can then be placed under the tree. These gifts are then donated to a local charity to be given to children of all ages.

Here at Holy Cross Church we combine the two services of the Crib Service and the Christingle Service. Thus, during the singing of some very familiar carols, we begin with the placing of the different characters from the Christmas Story in the crib scene, followed by the lighting and distribution of the Christingles (i.e. oranges).
Both services are aimed at the children so everyone present can enjoy themselves as we have fun celebrating the real meaning of Christmas.

On Christmas Day itself we will be holding a Holy Communion service at 10.30am.
The service is always very special, filled with the singing of familiar carols and the telling of the story of the very first Christmas.
Even if you don't receive Holy Communion, please feel welcome to join us. You will be warmly invited to receive a blessing instead, if you wish.
