About Us
St Margaret's Church is a mixed and diverse congregation, reflecting the community in which we are situated. We are people of all ages and backgrounds, and from a number of different countries.
Our worship is centred on the Eucharist celebrated in the beauty of holiness, embracing colour, drama and symbol. In re-telling Christ's life, death, and resurrection, our worship inspires and challenges us, bringing us into encounter with the mystery of God. It is dignified yet relaxed and everyone is welcome.
The main act of worship each week is our Sung Eucharist on Sundays at 10.30am. It includes music, hymns, bible readings, sermon and Holy Communion, and lasts for about 70 minutes. We also have an active Sunday School, 'Discoverers', which meets every Sunday morning at 10.30am in the Church Hall (except for a summer break in August).
The church supports local community projects and holds social events, such as Tea's Company - a monthly gathering for conversation and fellowship over tea, coffee and cake.
Opportunities to deepen understanding of the Christian faith - such as faith exploration classes, bible studies, Advent/Lent courses, baptism and confirmation preparation - are held throughout the year. Please contact the Vicar to find out more about these.
Whether you are walking through the church door for the first time or have been a hundred times before, whether you're a longtime Christian or just beginning to explore your faith, WELCOME!
