For Seniors

We have two events for our Senior Congregation:

Mothers Union:

Mothers' Union in Britain and Ireland is, like the Anglican Church, divided into areas called dioceses. Within their dioceses members take on the critical role of fundraising for projects worldwide as well as focusing on the needs of their own communities, very often filling in gaps for provision from elsewhere. This leads to a very wide range of activities great and small

The Phoenix Club:

The Phoenix Club takes place Thursdays in the Church 1330-1530. They meet every week at the back of St Edward's Church and are for people who continue to enjoy the friendship and companionship of others. Following the success of the Coronation Party in May, they celebrated Harvest on 12th October with a ploughmans lunch and tucked into variety of cheeses,  lovely fresh baguettes and pickles with salads. This was followed by Apple Pie and Cream with some lovely "beverages". The usual quiz and bingo then took place, and 27 happy well fed members headed for home.

They are an inclusive club and would welcome anyone over approx 55 years of age to join them. Weekly fees are just £2. They welcome new members for a chat and some great events which are planned throughout the year.

Please contact the office if you require any further information on either of these two clubs. We look forward to seeing you!
