The Old Church of St. Peter, Pembury
Welcome to the Parish of St. Peter, Pembury.
We are an Inclusive Church worshipping in two buildings – the Upper Church and the Old Church.
For nearly 900 years our Church has been at the heart of the village of Pembury. We are a vibrant community of all ages seeking to play our part in sharing God’s love in word and deed throughout our parish and beyond.
We do hope you’ll join us as we explore together our Christian faith and spirituality in enriching and challenging ways.
Our worship draws on the rich liturgical tradition of the Church of England. In the Upper Church, the service of Holy Communion forms the basis of much our worship.
In the Old Church we also uphold the beauty of worship found in the Book of Common Prayer, especially in the traditional service of Matins.
We emphasize the importance of being a loving community, supporting one another through friendship and care.
We seek to enhance the life of our village through service and by bearing witness to the transforming message of the Good News of Jesus.
The parish of St Peter, Pembury is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Rochester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
