St. Mary the Virgin

Open to God, open to Gillingham

Welcome. We try to be an open, kind and joyful Christian community, loving God, each other and the world. We'd love to meet you at any one of the many activities that go on in the life of this church. Lots more details can be found here or if you don't find what you are looking for please contact the benefice administrator, Mrs Carole Blackmore, 01747 821598.

The parish of Gillingham: St Mary the Virgin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Salisbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

This service has been postponed during lockdown and will start again soon. A beautiful peaceful way to start Sundays. We sit together in the choir of the church.

The government have given permission for public worship to continue during this lockdown. We worship together using the government and Church of England's guidelines, remembering the hands, face and space guidance.
